Invisalign Vs Fixed braces
Invisalign aligners are removable clear devices which sit over your teeth. They can be removed each time you eat or drink and of course when brushing your teeth. This means that you can keep your teeth and gums cleaner (and your breath fresher!) than if you have fixed braces.
Fixed braces are worn 24/7 for the duration of your treatment which depends on many factors. Invisalign aligners are worn for 20-22 hours per day (you should simply take them out to eat and to clean them).
How often do you change them?
You’ll typically change to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks with check up appointments scheduled with your dentist every six to eight weeks to check your progress. You’ll need less frequent and less lengthy appointments than if you were wearing fixed braces.
How long do I have to wear them for?
It depends on each individual case but you can expect to wear your Invisalign aligners for approximately 12 months – which is comparably less time than most cases of patients wearing fixed braces.
How much do they cost?
