Bite Dental is Brisbane's favourite team of dental experts

Dr Simon Franks BSc (Hons) BDS (Hons) FRACDS

Simon knows a lot about teeth

Dr Simon Franks, founding Dentist Bite Dental Brisbane City

A Kiwi by birth, Simon has honours degrees in Dentistry, Neuroscience and Human Anatomy. He's also a fellow of the prestigious Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and is completing a Masters of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) through King's College London.

This background has led to a strong preventive approach. Simon ensures he takes time with every patient to understand each aspect of a client's dental health and lifestyle, before deciding on treatment. He has found over time, that its the quality of the relationship between dentist and client that results in the best outcomes.

Any treatment is an informed decision that you make—after all, it’s your teeth!

Simon regularly speaks for Diabetes Australia and also helps diabetes educators promote the links between diabetic control and oral health. He also has an interest in how poor oral health can exacerbate cardiovascular disease.

As a member of the Allied Health Network he has direct access to many other therapies to improve patient care, including physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage and chiropractic care.

For over a decade he has supported the East Meets West Foundation, regularly volunteering his time providing dental care for orphaned children in Vietnam.

Simon also has a young family, so understands well, growing and changing dentistry needs.
